Ambassador Program Launches to Educate Michigan Businesses on Workplace Safety Guidelines
The Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) and Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) are launching a new program to support Michigan businesses to reopen safely amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The MIOSHA Ambassador Program offers education and one-on-one guidance to help businesses understand regulations on workplace safety.

Is my employee eligible for COVID-19 paid leave? 

Self-employed, gig worker or 1099-independent contractors affected by COVID-19?  Apply for federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) at to receive the set $600 federal weekly payment.   The PUA application is available through the customers MiWam account. The customer would select the “For Employees” button from the UIA website.
